That's from the Undead, isn't it? When Jim and Artie are checking out "Tiny John", and the mortician asks for Form 17...yeeeeaaaaah--now I remember. I love that scene!
(P.S. Ha! Tiny, my foot. That guy could have taken on Voltaire! ) |

Artie: James…you’re always hanging around.
Jim: An occupational hazard—lately, I seem to get tied up in my work.

Here's the classic line for a Season Two episode of horrors...
"What was that?"

I'm thinking Artie to Jim in Man-Eating House.
Although the classic line for that episode is "Sheriff, bring the lamp." |

Uh-oh. Snish has the episode I was looking for, but Tomk is right, too. Jim said that when he saw the flying saucer, didn't he?
Darn--I didn't even think of checking for the same line in other episodes.
So who got it? Snish or Tomk? |

Well, I think Jim's is actually "But what was that?" I just did a turn, so let Snish (or whoever) answer. |

How funny! It's basically a tie between the two. The word "but" could make the difference. My first guess was Man-Eating house too though, not Pie Plate. It's all up to you, chicky--you picked the episode. |

Well, since Tomk doesn't seem to mind, and since he did reign the boards for a couple of days with his quote ( ), I'm going to give it to Snish.
Good luck, Snish! |

Oh... that means I have to think of a line, don't I? That's what I get for opening my big mouth! (No, that's not the line. )
I'll have to think on it a bit. I'm new to this game, go easy on me... |

Back at ya, Chicky, you got it. OK, it was too easy! It's actually the first line in the series. I was watching Inferno the other night and appreciating it more than usual--thinking, you know, this was really well done. It has a more serious tone than most of the eps. but I like that. The scene with Jim and Artie at the water pump--talking but not appearing to have a conversation if anyone's watching--is clever. The only thing I really don't like--Artie's outfit! |

Snish I agree about Arte's outfit in Inferno . And Inferno led to 4 years of Wild Wild West, so how bad could it have been?! |

I actually watched "TNOT Inferno" after you mentioned that quote, Snish, and I noticed the same thing--it was more like a movie than a TV pilot.
Another thing I noticed was Robert Conrad's acting. I don't mean to offend any Jim Jewels out there, but in the pilot, he actually sounded like he wanted to be there, whereas in other episodes, he seemed like he was...bored. I don't know--that's just what I noticed.
Anyway, here's a Season Two quote;
"However..."
Have fun with this one, everybody! |

I don't think bored is the right word. I think he found the character after a few episodes. A more animated Jim West wouldn't work. In the first few episodes of Star Trek, there's a few times where Mr. Spock almost shouts a few commands and lines of dialogue. By the the second season, Nimoy had that character down perfect. |

The Powers That Be may have decided that his boyish enthusiasm (which I rather like) in the pilot wasn't really right for a sophisticated secret agent, and told him to tone it down.

I liked it, too. I wish they had kept the personality a little more present in the episodes than just when Jim was in the company of lovely ladies. |

Vicious Valentine was my first thought too because of your clue, chicky. But at the same time I thought that's probably not really it. HA! I'm not sure yet either what it actually is, but violets probably have something to do with it. |

Hehe--I like being devious.
To add some more confusion, I'd like to mention that it's not the flower that you should be looking for. |

Perhaps the highlighted color is clue. "However..." is red and Violets are violet. Perhaps it has to do with an ep that has a lot of "green" it it. |
