You have the right episode and the right spoken to, but the wrong speaker. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

It is the insufferable T. Wiggett Jones, one of my favorite villains of the series. Wish he hadn't been killed off!
You are up! |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

A wild wild guess:
Count Sazanov (sp?) (John Astin) in TNOT Tartar. Don't know the situation or the spoken to at this time. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

Then how about Millard Boyer to the Count? Has to be when Boyer comes to the house just before the Count does him in. |

It ain't Boyer.

OOO-K.
Let's see. Not too many people had speaking roles.
Jim to the Count? It would have to be either when Jim first approaches the Count and ends up being a prisoner, or when Jim is tied to the pole to be used as a practice dummy for the guys with the nasty blades. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

I'm going to leave out a name used at the end of this quote because it would probably give it away immediately. And it might be too easy anyway! You can provide the name when you make your guess.

It's Artie as the spoken TO, it's's Fire & Brimstone. Do you want to take another shot at the speaker? |

If the name Artie is in the blank (as opposed to Gordon, Mr Gordon, or the name of any disguise he might be using), then surely the speaker is Jim? |

And surely you are right.
It occurs when they take refuge in the shed or barn, and some shots cause the piano there to play a few notes. Artie says something like, "They're playing us out," and Jim replies with this quote.
You are up, Niecie. |

Ok, let me check my notes...
Here's one:
Season 4 You got brains too.
And bonus first clue, since I'm about to head home: If you squint hard enough, maybe you can pretend that Artie's lurking around here...

So does that mean it's one of the Gordonless Nine (or Eight, depending on if you count "The Night of the Winged Terror" as one long episode)? |

Basically yes, that's what the first clue means.
Season 4 You got brains too.
Clue the first: If you squint hard enough, maybe you can pretend that Artie's lurking around here...
Clue the second: Two actors playing one role, or one actor playing two roles? (Or maybe a bit of both...)
