Definitely not Richmond, no exposed underwear either (at least none that I can remember). |

Aha! So it's from "The Night of the Death-Maker" (remember the raisins in the Gatling gun?). Is it by any chance Gen. Cullen Dane? |

I'm going to say President Grant in Death-Maker. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

Thank you. Took me a while to figure out the dried fruit reference, and it occurred to me after I went to bed!
I'll be back with (I hope) a stupefying quote. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

Well, I don't know how stupefying this is going to be, but let's give it a try.
Season 4
Who the devil are you? |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

I guess I'd better provide a clue...
There are 12 months in a year. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

Right you are, DT. And thank you for not making me try to think of further clues! |

Sometimes deciding on a quote is harder than guessing them. Here is my pick.

"Who the devil are you?" could have come from season 3 as well ("The Night of the Underground Terror").
That sounds like a villain... is it from "The Night of the Eccentrics"? Deadeye perhaps? |

I thought of that when I posted the quote. I could "hear" Artie mocking Mosely. |

That was a guess! Wow... Okay, give me some time to think of one.
But wait! From season one:

Hey, CL1969. I think it is time for a clue. I have watched several episodes, but the lines aren't quite right. |

I've watched several episodes and didn't even hear one close! So clues indeed! Please? |

Hmm... thought you might be referring to TNOT Dragon Screamed, but the closest I heard was Quon Chu telling Jim "He gave us no time" when explaining why he used the paralyzing dart on Jim.
Might need another clue! |

To save myself the torture of watching it, I am going to guess: Jim to "Colonel of the Week" - Druid's Blood |

Damn my faulty memory - California gal's got it... (and Double Take, how can a reference to "Puff The Magic Dragon" be tied to "The Night of the Druid's Blood"? You're right about it being one of season one's weakest episodes, mind...)

Actually, when I first read the quote, I was SURE I "heard" Jim say it, and I was kind of concentrating on finding the right situation for him to say it. Even after seeing your clue, I thought I'd find him saying it in Dragon Screamed! Talk about faulty memories (unless of course he says it in another episode in another season!).
I'll check my list of quotes and post one after awhile. |

I'm going to stick with season 1:

Not Dragon Screamed.
(Although there may be a similar quote there.) |

Clue time, I reckon. This will probably give it away instantly (and you're allowed to research):
