Well, I just finished watching all 3 seasons of Star Trek but I'm by no means a Trekkie. The only "Vulcans" I know of both appeared in WWW's season 3. I've watched several potential season 2 eps with no joy. So I think I'm going to need another clue. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

I'm pretty sure the phrase "On what charge?" actually is in a Star Trek episode, season 3, All Our Yesterdays. Kirk says it right after being arrested. |

Bingo! California gal got it!
"Vulcan" was in reference to the pilot episode of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. - Vulcan was the name of the big bad in said episode, and Will "Zeno Baroda" Kuluva played the head of U.N.C.L.E. in the pilot before he was replaced by Leo G. Carroll in the finished version of the episode that aired (although Kuluva still remains in To Trap A Spy, the expanded version of the pilot that got shown in cinemas overseas). And "Ehrlich" was Dr. Ehrlich as played on St. Elsewhere by Ed Begley, Jr., son of Judge M'Guigan himself Ed Begley.
So now you're up, my dear... |

Well, of course I thought that the Vulcan reference was to Star Trek. I watched MFU years ago, and more recently the first couple of seasons on DVD--but I haven't watched them all yet. I did get the reference to Ed Begley Jr., which led me to his dad. Infernal Machine is definitely not a favorite episode and I resisted watching it until this clue.
I shall find a quote and be back soon. |

That sounds like something Artie would say to Jim... is it "The Night of the Horribly Overacted, Badly Written Episode, aka The Night of the Fatal Trap"? |

Not Fatal Trap, and not Artie.
In all fairness, I should say that this is one of those quotes that you have to listen carefully to catch... or have closed-captioning activated! |

I thought it might be Bars of Hell, but alas no.
So how about the dress designer, Barbara Bosley, to John Brown - Flaming Ghost |

Nope, not Bars of Hell, as you found out, and not Flaming Ghost. |

Right episode, right speaker, wrong spoke-to. Want to guess further? (I take it you don't watch the episodes often! ) It's yours regardless because you are so close to being "right." |

I generally watch the DVDs all the way through, then start again from the beginning! If I could get to the episode now, I would... until I can (and identify the speakee - the fellow behind the desk when Jim checks in?), I'll post this one from the season I'm on, namely four:
"Bad music, but music!" |
"Make them both as uncomfortable as possible." - Marquis de la Mer, "The Night of the Watery Death" |

Jim said it when he and Artie were setting up to ambush the guard with the turkey bone. Artie said something like, "Be careful with those suspenders, they're all I have," and Jim then said, "Hope they fit." Doesn't exactly make sense but...
I should have myself a start-to-finish marathon one of these days again. I usually jump around, depending on my mood. |

I'm going to take a quick wild guess on this one:

I thought a woman said it but I wasn't absolutely positive about which episode.
Let's see how long this one lasts:
season 4:
Oh, do we start? |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |
