Posted - 12/26/2008 : 12:34:26 Yes, the ever-popular game is back! For those who've forgotten, the rules are:
1. One of us quotes an episode (and tells us which season it's from). 2. The rest of us try and guess what episode the quote comes from. 3. The winner (and ONLY the winner - no barging in, please) sets the next one. 4. Like ccb's quizzes, only checking the actual episode is allowed (no other resources, for example books written by Susan Kesler ).
Before that unfortunate mishap, the quote was "Was that a shot?" as set by nittanyapple... |

"A man or a woman?" |

Posted - 02/26/2021 : 19:47:32 I'll try to answer this one strictly on memory ... is it Amelia speaking to Mr. West at the conference table in 'Tontine'?
YES! YES! Now you are trapped in the Groundhog Day time warp of never-ending "Favourite Lines of Dialogue." |

Posted - 02/25/2021 : 13:13:43 Oh, I'm Frau Blücher now? (Cue the horses!)
I did have a little fun making reference to this episode featuring two members of the Rat Pack - the same two who starred together in a movie called Salt and Pepper (Sammy Davis Jr played Salt; Peter Lawford played Pepper.)
Hmm... This new quote will require thought... |

Posted - 02/24/2021 : 14:33:12 Oh, good grief: two weeks in, niece is trying her darnedest, and nobody else plays.
"Hold it right there!" Artemus, in the shadows inside Bronson Cave, to Jim: the first words spoken in "The Night of the Returning Dead."
I've always been partial to that teaser. For one thing, it's a western redo of Hamlet's opening. And Richard Donner and Ted Voigtlander actually shot that scene inside the cave itself. Every other cave in the series is a phony-looking interior set, fabricated with plastic and papier mâché.
I'm not going to be s*cked into this much longer. I haven't had time to tally votes from the quiz last Christmas. But I'll bat one more back to Frau Blücher:
Season Two: "You're on, Mr. West." |

Posted - 02/20/2021 : 11:41:52 Season Two Hold it right there!
Clue the first: Not quite the full pack.
Clue the second: Jim & Artie's mad culinary skills. *wink*
Clue the third: Sorry, but did someone mention Frau Blücher?
Clue the fourth: Curiously enough, there are a couple of mentions of *ahem* Salt & Pepper...
Clue the fifth: See that horse? You'll see it again - many times.

And the rest is history. |

That's a sweet clue. It's fun watching you formulate these things so that they're not giveaways. |

That's a relief. There were a dozen more characters to go.
I'll take my turn after finishing my Special Seasonal next week. I can juggle only so many quizzes at one time. |

Posted - 12/27/2020 : 18:05:53 Got it in one - she's talking to Jim (just about drooling over him). The line comes pretty early in the episode, while she's playing a game of solitaire.
Your turn! |
ccb |
Posted - 12/27/2020 : 15:19:25 Do you want to identify to whom she is speaking … ?
Not especially. That's not one of my favorite episodes and I don't feel like putting myself through it again. But if you prefer exactitude, I'll start at the top:
1. She's speaking to Jim West. (This could go on for quite a while.) |

Posted - 12/27/2020 : 11:20:02 Ah, do you suppose she might be the woman in white furs in Clue the eighth? And perhaps the cougar in Clue the sixth?
Yes, that's the speaker. Do you want to identify to whom she is speaking, or shall we call it officially your turn? |

Posted - 12/26/2020 : 21:00:28 This episode has only so many speaking characters. The next on my list is Duchess Nina Foch. |
niecie |
Posted - 12/26/2020 : 10:53:52 Nope.
Here's a hint: two of clues refer to the speaker (one directly, the other snarkily). |
